The Switch

I recently finished working on Out TV Network’s new sitcom The Switch. I composed the music and handled all the sound design and mixing for the series. The Switch was nominated for two 2016 Leo Awards including Best Music, Comedy or Variety Program and Best Performance or Host in a Music, Comedy or Variety Program with Amy Fox winning the latter. Unit Bryan

I recently handled all post audio and music for the Jem Gararrd written and directed short Unit Bryan. This included the mix and sound design as well as creating and using music from my library. Unit Bryan from Artaban on Vimeo.

Leo Award Nomination for Clockwork

This year my song ‘Clockwork’ was nominated for best music video at The Leo Awards. There were six nominees in the category for which hundreds submitted. The video didn’t end up taking home the award but it’s an honour to be nominated for such a big award show. Congrats to Greg Gillespie and Jem Garrard for making the video come to life.

PGVAN#11 Dan Mangan and Blacksmith

In January, Playground teamed up with Dan Mangan and Blacksmith to produce PGVAN#11 at The Warehouse recording studio in Vancouver. It was such a treat to finally record one of these events in an actual studio nonetheless one of the finest in Canada. Check out the mix I came up with. All audio is live from one take.

One Kingdom’s debut album

I started jamming more frequently with a couple friends in Vancouver that have been playing together for a number of years. They call themselves One Kingdom. Jeff Child and Jesse Bentley both sing, write, play guitar and bass. When Jesse is playing guitar and singing lead, Jeff is grooving on the bass and singing harmonies. Smashed Hits Vol II

Zachary Stevenson and I teamed up again to produce Smashed Hits Vol II. With the success of the first installment we hit the studio to relive some of the old classics including Peggy Sue, Oh Boy and That’s Alright Mama. The album was recorded at The Warehouse Studio in Gastown. It’s always a treat going to this studio especially when you have the talented Josh Bowman engineering your sessions. My good friend Zachary Stevenson has been performing in all kinds of musicals for the last few years. Expertly portraying characters such as Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis and Hank williams, the demand for an album of covers grew.
